Healthtrax Fitness & Aquatics is moving into the former Virtua fitness center on Hurffville-Cross Keys Road, just past the Fries Mill Road intersection in Washington Township, inside the 250,000 square foot Virtua Health & Wellness Center. The gym space has sat closed since the end of 2018, nearly eight years. Healthtrax lists the opening as "Coming Soon This Fall"; no exact date has been announced.
The plan described for the location includes an aquatics center with a lap pool, a heated exercise pool and a hot tub, plus personal and small-group training, a steam room and locker rooms.
Healthtrax has operated for more than 40 years, mostly in New England, with clubs in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island and others in New York and North Carolina. Its other New Jersey club is in Moorestown, so this is its second in South Jersey.
