Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace, a specialty grocer, has taken space at East Gate Square, 1311 Nixon Drive in Moorestown, and says the store is slated to open in late 2027. It is one of two locations in an expansion the company announced in August, the other being 320 West DeKalb Pike in King of Prussia, which will be its first store in Pennsylvania. The chain is based in Melville, New York and runs more than a dozen stores across the Northeast. The company lists its departments as an Italian deli, a scratch bakery, full service meat and seafood counters, prepared foods, produce, specialty cheeses and imported Italian goods, with mozzarella and pasta made in house. Carl DelPrete, the company's chief executive and co-founder, said Moorestown and King of Prussia are markets the company had been looking at for some time, and that the New Jersey store gives it a way to reach customers across South Jersey.
