Pitman borders Mantua Township, where the team's office is, and Glassboro, where the team has sold since 2006.

Pitman grew out of a Methodist camp meeting, and Pitman Grove's cottages still sit at its center, ringed by older single-family houses on a walkable grid, a downtown along Broadway, and Alcyon Lake. Lots are small, the housing is almost all resale, and the houses vary enough that condition and updates matter as much as size.
